Ichabod women's golf in 4th after first round at NSIC Preview

SMITHVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's golf team opened the NSIC Preview with a 29-over 317 to sit in 4th place after the first round. The Ichabods will finish up competition on Tuesday with the final 18 holes at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. 

Angelina Borg-Malec tied her lowest round of the spring, leading the Ichabods with a 2-over 74 to sit alone in 5th place. Borg-Malec made birdie at three of the four par-5s on the course. 

Keira Ronsick sits in a tie for 8th place after a 4-over 76. Ronsick picked up a birdie at the par-4, 317-yard 14th hole. 

Lois Deeter finished the day in a tie for 34th place with a round of 82. Deeter made birdies at two par-5s, the 9th and 11th holes. 

Susana Granados Carrion sits in a tie for 54th after a round of 85. Granados Carrion found a birdie at the par-5, 477-yard 9th hole. 

Allie Sullivan posted a round of 86 on the day, good for a tie for 58th place. 

Playing as an individual, Aliyah North sits in a tie for 26th place after a round of 81. North joined Deeter and Granados Carrion in making birdie on the par-5 9th hole. 

Also playing as an individual, Raegan Petersen is tied for 62nd after a round of 87. Petersen opened the back nine with a birdie at the par-3, 158-yard 10th hole. 

Washburn is the highest-placed MIAA team in the field, holding a two-shot lead over 5th-place Missouri Western. Augustana leads the event after the first round with a 17-over 305.
