Washburn women's golf ties for 3rd at NSIC Preview

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod women's golf team tied for 3rd place at the NSIC Preview, posting a team score of 320 over the final 18 holes of golf at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The Ichabods will head to their final regular season meet at the Spring Regional Preview from Apr. 7-8.

Angelina Borg-Malec earned her best finish of the spring, coming in a tie for 6th after a 9-over 81. Borg-Malec led the field in par-5 scoring average at 4.75, going 2-under on par-5s.

Keira Ronsick continued her strong run of form, joining Borg-Malec in a tie for 6th after a 7-over 79. Ronsick finished tied for 4th in par-4 scoring average at 4.25.

Susana Granados Carrion posted the best round of the day for the Ichabods, firing a 5-over 77 to finish in a tie for 20th. Granados Carrion made birdie at the par-4, 374-yard 15th hole.

Lois Deeter ended the tournament in a tie for 30th after a final-round 84. Deeter joined Granados Carrion in a tie for 7th in par-5 scoring, with both Ichabods averaging 5.13 on the par-5s.

Allie Sullivan finished tied for 43rd with a round of 83. Sullivan improved on her first-round score by three strokes, finding birdies at the 3rd and 8th holes.

Playing as an individual, Aliyah North finished in a tie for 32nd place after a round of 85. North made two birdies in the span of three holes, going under par at the par-4 4th hole and the par-3 6th hole.

Raegan Petersen, another individual, finished tied for 67th after a round of 91. Petersen made back-to-back birdies at the 11th and 12th holes.

Washburn tied with Minnesota State for the third spot with team scores of 637 for the tournament. The Ichabods were the highest-placing MIAA team in the field, leading 5th-place Missouri Western by 13 strokes. Augustana (S.D.) claimed the team title with a four-stroke advantage over NSIC rival Wayne State (Neb.).
