Anderson's day highlights round two of NCAA Regional

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's golf team had the low round of the second 18 holes of the NCAA Central /Midwest Super Regional paced by a record-setting day from Marco Anderson as Washburn climbed seven spots after two rounds. The final 18 holes will take place tomorrow at St. Joseph Country Club.

Anderson climbed 48 spots into a two-stroke individual lead as an individual after firing an 8-under 63 in the second round. Anderson was 3-under on the front side and then had birdies on five holes with no bogeys on the back side for his stellar round. The 8-under score was the lowest round since Matt Ewald scored 63 at the Fort Hays State Invitational in 2007 on the  par 71 course.

Zachary Haydamack recorded an 1-under, 70 in his second round putting up five birdies with four bogeys moving into 54th after two rounds.

Blake Saffell recorded a 2-over 73 with three birdies in his second round climbing into 68th overall and Hayden Beck moved up five spots in the standings after a 4-over 75 going into 88th. Quinn Earwood carded a 6-over 77 in his second round and is 95th overall.

The Ichabods are in a tie for 13th overall at 25-over as a team. They are three shots out of the top nine and eight shots out of the top five overall.

The Ichabods will start their final round at 9:10 a.m. Saturday morning.
