PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team closed out the MIAA Outdoor Championships on Sunday, highlighted by a historic performance in the triple jump and multiple top-four finishes on the final day of competition.

Justin Forde produced another record-setting performance on the final day of the meet by winning the triple jump with a school-record and meet-record leap of 16.64m (54-07.00). The mark ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II this season and also set a stadium record, as Forde successfully defended his MIAA Outdoor title from 2025 scoring 10 points for Washburn. Forde also won the triple jump at the MIAA Indoor Championship earlier this season en route to the NCAA National Indoor Championship. Ransford Nti added five more points in the event by finishing fourth at 14.98m (49-02.00), meeting the NCAA provisional standard.

On the track, Tayveon Simms earned a fourth-place finish in the 100m, crossing the line in 10.50 seconds to score five points, while Ja'Laveyn January placed eighth in 10.90 to add another point. In the 400-meter hurdles, Jake Muller finished fourth in 52.04 seconds. The personal-best time also met the NCAA provisional standard and earned five team points.

Washburn picked up valuable points in the distance events as well. Donald Kibet finished fourth in the 5,000m in 14:37.25 to score five points, with Tommy Roehl following in eighth at 14:48.95 for one point. Adrian Lehman placed ninth and Shane Mullen 13th in the event, while Taylor Karcz finished 17th in the 1,500m.

In the relays, the Ichabods added a point in the 4x400 meter relay as Bryce Cochran, Jake Muller, Tucker Groh and Grady Buessing finished eighth in 3:15.08.

Logan Schwab and Caden Caplinger tied for eighth in the pole vault after clearing 4.77m (15-08.00), earning a combined half point. Adam Wooldridge also cleared 4.77m to place 10th, while Eli Strawn recorded a personal best of 4.62m (15-02.00) in 12th.
