Last time out for the Ichabods
    March 30, 2010 - TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods were swept in an MIAA doubleheader dropping a pair of 3-1 games to Fort Hays State on Tuesday afternoon at Falley Field. The Ichabods will return to action on April 7 at Rockhurst at 6 p.m.
Washburn (12-10, 11-9 MIAA) tied game one in the bottom of the fifth inning after the Tigers (19-7, 12-6 MIAA) had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning. Vicente Vieyra doubled to center and scored on an RBI single from Travis Cruz.
The game remained tied into the bottom of the seventh when the Ichabods had the bases loaded with two outs, but were unable to get the winning run across. Fort Hays State scored two runs in the top of the ninth on a two-out triple from Kelton Rule.
Daren Parker (1-2) took the loss for Washburn after giving up one run on one hit in one plus innings of relief. Brett Ash allowed one run on five hits in five innings as the starter.
The Tigers scored a single unearned run in the second and added two more runs in the fourth for a 3-0 lead in game two. The Ichabods were able to get one run across in the sixth inning on a Dane Simoneau RBI double to right center, but could get no more. Washburn mustered just four hits in the contest, while the pitching staff held Fort Hays State to just three hits.
Danny Cook (1-3) took the loss after allowing three runs on two hits in 3.1 innings. Mitchell Carver allowed just one hit in 3.2 innings of relief.

About Rockhurst
The Hawks enter the week with a 15-13 overall record, including 6-7 in GLVC play. Rockhurst won two out of three against Missouri S&T to finish up last week. RU will travel to Emporia on Tuesday to battle the Hornets before hosting Washburn for a single nine-inning game on Wednesday in Kansas City.
Chad Hatcher leads the team in batting with a .420 average in 20 games played. Ryan Porter has started every game for the Hawks and is hitting .390 with three home runs and 19 RBI.
Ben Baker and Mike Walczuk lead the team with six and five home runs, respectively. Rockhurst has hit 23 home runs as a team, while Hawk pitchers have given up 15 long balls.
On the mound, Mark Himmelberg leads the team with five wins in six appearances. He sports a 5.46 ERA, while Ian Burke has a team-low 5.06 ERA in four relief appearances. RU pitchers have given up 99 extra-base hits and opponents are hitting .327 against them.
Washburn and Rockhurst split a doubleheader back on March 16 in Topeka. The Ichabods took game one 15-8 before falling 11-5 in the nightcap.

About Central Missouri
The Mules enter the week with a record of 27-3 overall and 20-2 in the MIAA. The Mules are ranked either No. 2 or No. 3 in the nation depending on which poll you consult.
UCM swept Missouri Western in a four-game series over the weekend outscoring the Griffons 36-7 over the final three games.
Nick DeBiasse leads the Mules with a .413 average and 10 home runs. He has also driven in a team-high 37 runs. Central Missouri has nine players batting .308 or better. The Mules have smacked 115 extra-base hits, including 41 home runs. Mule pitchers have allowed just 13 home runs and 51 extra-base hits on the season.
Brooks Martin leads UCM with a team-low 1.63 ERA in seven starts. Martin has struck out 48 batters in 38.2 innings pitched. He is 6-0 on the year as is Matt Curtis. UCM's top three pitchers are a combined 17-0 in 20 starts.
Alex Kent is 4-0 out of the bullpen in 12 appearances, including two saves. Nick Phillips leads the team with six saves.

New Promotions at Ichabod Home Games
Starting with the Tuesday doubleheader against Fort Hays State there will be new promotions going on at Washburn home games.
Games and drawings will determine the winners of great prizes including free movie rentals, concessions food and other gift certificates to local area restuarants.
In addition, all Tuesday home games are now “T-Shirt Tuesday's” courtesy of Bod Squad and Washburn Student Government Association. Free t-shirts will be handed out to Washburn students who come out and show their support for the Ichabods.
