FORT SCOTT, Kan. – The Washburn men's junior varsity team dropped its second game in just as many days in a 79-63 loss to Fort Scott Community College Wednesday evening.
The Ichabods weren't able to get the ball though the net in loss where they posted an overall shooting percentage of 36 percent going 12.5 percent from long range. Washburn trailed early and headed into the break having found itself facing a 10 point deficit. The Ichabods took advantage of poor three-point shooting by the Greyhounds and managed to go on a 9-0 run early in the second period to get within ten points but some well-timed baskets by Fort Scott kept the Ichabods at an arm's length and resulted in Fort Scott handing the Ichabods their second straight road loss.
Darren Spruill led the Ichabods with 17 total points and he was complemented by an 11 point effort from
Eric Harms.
The Ichabods will return to action on Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. when they take on the Ottawa JV squad.
