Arkansas City, Kan. – The Washburn women's junior varsity team dropped its first game of the season to the nationally ranked Tigers of Cowley County 94-44.

Washburn found itself facing an early deficit after ending the first period trailing 21-7. The Ichabods could never find a rhythm committing 25 turnovers overall. Hayley Thompson provided a bright spot for Washburn contributing a team-high 15 points and was assisted by Madison Vargo with 10 points.

Washburn will continue its season when it head to Great Bend, Kan. for the Best Western Booster Club Classic where it will face Northern Oklahoma State College- Enid on Nov. 4.
