TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn women's junior varsity basketball team never quite found its offensive rhythm in a 64-47 loss to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Tuesday evening at inside Lee Arena.
The Ichabods fell victim to an early deficit eventually headed into the break trailing 13-8. After gaining some momentum in the second half Washburn managed to whittle away at the Blue Devils lead, but were eventually overpowered falling to 0-4 on the season.
Hayley Thompson led the Ichabods with 12 points and was followed by Brecklyn Greene with an 8 point contribution.
Brooklyn Wagler led Kansas City with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Up next, the Ichabods will return to action on Nov. 17 when the team travels to Hesston, Kan. to face Hesston College with tipoff slated for 5:30 p.m.
