KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Washburn women's basketball junior varsity team fell in the final few minutes to Kansas City Kansas Community College 67-63 Wednesday evening.
 
Washburn got out to a strong start ending the first half shooting 53.6 percent from the field and eventually taking a 39-32 lead at the break. The Ichabods would get outscored 35-24 in the second period and fall to KCKCC for the second time this season.
 
Madison Vargo led Washburn with a team-high 21 points after connecting on 6 of 10 three-point shots.
 
The Ichabods will return to action on Jan. 23 when the team heads to Leavenworth, Kan. to face Saint Mary's with tip-off slated for 7 p.m.
