LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track and field team wrapped up the regular season at the Rock Chalk Classic bringing back a combined three NCAA provisional marks, a school record, four personal bests and 10 top-10 finishes at Rock Chalk Park. The MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will take place next weekend in Emporia.
On the women's side, the Ichabods went first and second in the pole vault with
Virgi Scardanzan winning on misses over
Rachael Mayberry who was second both clearing 3.96m (12-11.75). Both marks were NCAA provisional jumps as well as a personal best for Mayberry.
Isabella Hohl broke her own school record in the 100m with a second-place finish in a time of 11.69 besting her previous mark of 11.79.
Patricia Koma was third in the 1500m open in a time of 4:45.66 for a personal best and
Taylor Gonzales was fifth in the 1500m Invitational event in a time of 4:35.78.
Connor Last finished second in the long jump with a mark of 7.11m (23-04.00) and
Josh Hopkins was sixth at 7.06m (23-02.00).
Romain Henry took third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.60 and
Collen McLain was third in the 800m in a time of 1:56.71.
