OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Washburn got on the course for the first time in a month an hour later due to a temperature delay and the Ichabods heated up just like the temperatures, shooting 14 strokes better in round two of the Oak Tree Invitational than they did in round one. Washburn sits in seventh place at +19 after two rounds and will begin the third at 9:00 a.m., tomorrow.
The Ichabods had a total of 584 strokes as a team through two rounds, five strokes behind Cameron University in sixth place, and one stroke ahead of the Cameron University B team who sits in eighth. Henderson State shot a 280 in the second round to finish at just six over par in first place.
Daniel Duffin shot his lowest round of the season, a 68, in the second round after carding 74 in the first to lead Washburn after day one at +2 and alone in 11th place. Dawson Wills and Cade Uhlenhake had identical days, both shooting 73 in round one and 71 in the final 18 holes to sit tied for 15th place.
Kade Prentice started with a 79 but finished with a 75 in the second round to end the day tied for 56th place. Max Ullan is tied for 66th in the field shooting 79 in both rounds of the day to round up team scoring.
Individually, Jack Baker shot a 73 in round one to finish the day at 10 over and tied for 44th while Grant Brenneman shot a 74 in the opening round but is in a tie for 62nd with a total of 157 on the day.
The Ichabods were the best team in the field on par five holes, averaging just 4.5 strokes on them. Uhlenhake and Duffin lead all competitors carrying averages of four strokes on those holes. Washburn had three eagles on the day, most of any team and had the third most birdies on day one.
