EDMOND, Okla. -- Washburn golf ends day one of the Broncho Invitational in fifth place out of 16 teams after shooting +34 as a team. The Ichabods will finish the final 18 holes tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. 

After 36 holes Washburn is in fifth place, two strokes behind Harding and Southwestern Oklahoma State who are tied for third. The Ichabods carded a total of 610 on day one, putting them third out of nine MIAA schools competing. Central Oklahoma is leading the tournament by six strokes shooting +18 with Northeastern State in second place.  

Jack Baker leads the Ichabods, finishing day one in third place with a combined score of 146 for the day. After shooting 76 in the opening round Baker carded a 70 on the final round, his best of the season, to sit at just two over par. Cade Uhlenhake also shot a 70, with his coming in the opening round. He finished his day with an 81 on round two to finish tied for 12th at +7.  

Kade Prentice used rounds of 72 and 80 to land in the top-20, tied for 19th place after 152 total strokes. Dawson Wills sits tied for 65th after day one at +18 for the day. Daniel Duffin landed in a tie for 73rd after 36 holes after shooting a 164. 

Competing as an individual, Max Ullan shot a strong 74 in the opening round, followed by an 80 on the final 18 holes to land at +10 and tied for 26th.  

As a team the Ichabods did fourth best on par 5s, averaging 4.88 strokes on those holes. Washburn collected 26 birdies on day one, sixth most among the group, and 94 pars. Individually, Baker shot 4.05 on par 4s, second best in the 90-player field.
