KEARNEY, Neb. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track and field team spent the last two nights in Nebraska and brought back several school records, NCAA provisional marks and individual champions at the UNK Twilight on Saturday and the storm-shortened Concordia Invitational on Friday. In the high jump at UNK, Alessandro Di Gregorio won the event and snapped the school's record with a mark of 2.16m (7-01.00) for an NCAA provisional and a personal best.
 
For the second straight event, Justice Akinmoladun finished first at the UNK Twilight in the shot put with a school record of 17.77m (58-03.75) gaining an NCAA provisional, a personal best and a school record. On Friday night at Concordia he finished second breaking the school record for 24 hours with a mark of 17.49m (57-04.75).
 
On the women's side, Shanice Hutson is returning from Nebraska with two more records and a pair of NCAA provisional marks in both the shot put and the discus. At UNK, Hutson took second in the shot put with a mark of 14.94m topping her previous mark by 14 inches. At Concordia, Hutson won the event finishing first in the discus with a mark of 48.43m (158-11) topping the Ichabod record by two-feet, five-inches.
 
Paola Castaldi added to her school record in the hammer throw with a fifth-place finish topping her own school record by 17 inches with a mark of 55.36m (181-07) for an NCAA provisional mark.
