TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn men's and women's Ichabod track and field teams opened day one of the Ichabod Invitational on Friday at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility. Action will continue on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. No. 16 Ichabod Men
Washburn's men turned in a strong day highlighted by multiple personal bests and three NCAA provisional marks.

In the 200m, Tayveon Simms led the way with a 3rd-place finish in 21.54, a PR and NCAA provisional mark. Javier Lopez placed 28th.
Four Ichabods competed in the 600-yard run, with Brayden Peek finishing 4th in 1:12.88 and Jake Muller close behind in 6th at 1:13.12. Sam Baxter was 16th, while Seth Motes ran a PR of 1:16.72 for 19th.
The performance of the day came from Donald Kibet, who dominated the 5000m, winning in 14:16.64, a PR and NCAA provisional qualifier.
Washburn's high jump crew produced big results. Slade Smith cleared 2.10m (6-10.75) for 4th place, a PR and NCAA provisional mark. Alex Michiels recording a PR with a height of 2.05m (6-08.75) for an NCAA provisional while Aaron Newcomer and Matthew Heckman each cleared 2.00m.
 
In the long jump, Peyton Holmes hit a PR of 6.87m (22-06.50) for 13th, while Zuri Glenn placed 29th.
In the shot put, Caden Rhamy led the group with a 13th-place throw of 15.39m (50-06.00). Colin Heatherman and Josh Grimm both notched PRs. No. 27 Ichabod Women
The Washburn women delivered an outstanding day with multiple podium finishes, several NCAA provisional marks, and a deep collection of personal bests.
In the 200m, McKenzie Hayse and Ta'Mijha Nichols led a large Ichabod group with 2nd (24.48) and 3rd (24.55)-place finishes, both hitting NCAA provisional standards. Lyric Reid finished 7th, while Kennedi Knowles placed 13th. PRs came from Natalie Hillebert and Andria Williams, with six Ichabods finishing in the top 36.
In the 600-yard run, Isabella Garcia took 2nd in 1:24.35, and Ashley Heavner followed in 4th.
The high jump group posted one of its best collective meets of the season. Alex Hart cleared 1.74m (5-08.50) for 3rd, an NCAA provisional mark that places her 12th in NCAA Division II. Molly Worley and Shaydin Myers added PRs, and Roni Simeon rounded out the group.
The long jump featured two NCAA provisional marks, both at 5.79m (19-00.00), with Mellanie Neudinger finishing 5th and McKenzie Hayse 6th—both PRs. Three more Ichabods placed in the top 21.
In the shot put, Adriel Holloway earned 3rd place with a PR throw of 13.97m (45-10.00), also meeting the NCAA provisional standard. MEN'S ENTRIES
