PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Washburn men's track and field team had 10 top-eight finishes and two Ichabods earning All-MIAA honors in day two of the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. As a team, the Ichabods have earned 28.5 team points and will head into the final day of competition in fourth place.
Washburn had three Ichabods place in the top-eight to earn points in the long jump with two reaching the podium.
Connor Last jumped 7.53m to place second overall and
Josh Hopkins was right behind in third with a mark of 7.38m.
Tauan Lyra landed in sixth with a jump of 7.11m.
In the high jump,
Jordan Dale cleared 2.10m and placed fifth to collect four points for Washburn.
David Kibet ran the 5000m and placed sixth with a time of 14:37.38.
Mitch Miller was eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 18.18m.
In the distance medley, the team of
Leo Cossham,
Kael Ecord,
Konner Verbeck, and
Nathan Gray finished seventh with a team of 10:17.26.
Wyatt Heiman finished in the top-eight in both the 60m and 200m prelims and will compete in the finals tomorrow.
