PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Washburn men's track and field wrapped up the 2022-23 MIAA Indoor Championships on Sunday and finished seventh overall, marking the program's highest finish at the event. The Ichabods will now await the announcements for the NCAA National Championships which will take place in Virginia Beach, Va. March 10-11.
Wyatt Heiman earned team points for Washburn in two events. In the 200m, he achieved an NCAA provisional time of 21.66 and finished sixth overall. He also placed seventh in the 60m after running 6.91.
Two Ichabods earned points in the triple jump.
Alessandro Di Gregorio was fourth with an NCAA provisional mark of 14.72m.
Tauan Lyra jumped 14.31m for seventh place.
In the pole vault,
Mitchell Thompson cleared 4.62m and was 10th overall.
Pittsburg State claimed the conference championship and earned 208.50 points. Missouri Southern was second with 100.50 points and Nebraska-Kearney was third with 79 points.
