EMPORIA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team wrapped up the Emporia State Midwest Classic picking up eight personal bests, a NCAA provisional mark and 12 top-10 finishes on Sunday. The Ichabods will be in action next weekend at the Rock Chalk Classic at Kansas on Saturday.
 
Mitchell Thompson won the pole vault with a personal best of 4.70m (15-05.00) while Logan Schwab, MacKobe Merwin and Preston Witulski finished third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Justice Akinmoladun finished second in the shot put with a NCAA provisional mark and a school record of 17.14m (56-03.00).
 
Braden Rose took the discus with an NCAA provisional mark of 53.49m (175-06) and also finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.60m (182-05). Mitch Miller was third in the discus and fourth in the hammer and Jaden Magana was fourth in the discus and seventh in the hammer throw.
 
The Ichabod men's team finished fifth in the event out of 16 teams.
