TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team opened the 2025 calendar season with four  event champions, five  NCAA provisional marks and 25  personal bests at the Washburn Rust Buster on Friday at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. Washburn will return to action next Friday at the Pittsburg State Invitational.

Alyssa Hutcherson won the 60m in an NCAA provisional mark of 7.54 and she also played third in the 200m in a time of 24.84 for a personal best. Ta'Mijha Nichols had an NCAA provisional mark finishing second in the 200m with a  personal best time of 24.63 and she also finished second in the 60m in a time of 7.65.

McKenzie Hayse recorded the 300m individual title with a school record and a facility record with a time of 39.63 beating the previous school record by more than three seconds.

Lexie Fontaine won the 800m in an NCAA provisional time of 2:12.54 for an NCAA provisional mark.

Alex Hart finished second in the high jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 1.73m (5-08.00).

Isabel Demarco de Quadros tied the school record in the pole vault while winning the event with an NCAA provisional mark of 4.16m (13-07.75) with the fourth-best jump in the NCAA D2 ranks this season.
