TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team competed at two different sites returning to campus with a school record and four NCAA provisional marks.
Matteo Madrassi won the pole vault competition breaking his own school record clearing a height of 5.15m (16-10.75) with an NCAA provisional.
In the high jump the Ichabods took three of the top five spots led by
Matthew Heckman's second-place finish at 2.10m (6-10.75) for an NCAA provisional mark.
Jordan Dale finished third at 2.05m (6-08.75) and
Aaron Newcomer recorded a personal best at the same height finishing fifth.
The Ichabods are scheduled to be in action at several different meets in California next week including the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, the Long Beach Invite and the LaVern Leopard Invitational as well as the Kansas Relays.
