EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod men wrapped up the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships in Emporia with a third-place finish and a total of 107.5 points finishing in the top three for the second-straight season.
The men's high jump group delivered a massive haul, led by
Jordan Dale's win at 2.12m (6-11.50), followed closely by
Alessandro Di Gregorio in second (2.09m) and
Aaron Newcomer in a tie for fourth (2.04m, PR). Combined, the event netted 22.5 points.
In the pole vault,
Adam Wooldridge cleared a personal-best 5.07m to win the title and earn All-MIAA honors, with
Logan Schwab adding a 5th-place finish (4.82m).
Justin Forde broke the school record in the triple jump with a first-place leap of 15.88m (52-01.25) on his sixth and final attempt of the championship, an NCAA provisional mark that secured 10 points.
Ransford Nti joined him on the podium in third place with a mark of 15.31m (50-02.75), also provisionally qualifying.
On the track,
Sam Baxter and
Jake Muller each turned in PRs and NCAA provisional times in the 400m hurdles, finishing 3rd (52.57) and 4th (52.65), respectively. In the 100m,
Eddie Craig placed 6th in 10.54 to score 3 points. In the 1500m,
Sam Nesbitt ran a personal-best 3:52.63 for 6th, while
Alex Adams came in 8th and
Ross O'Brien placed 15th.
Washburn's relay teams contributed critical points as the 4x100m squad of
Emeka Ogbonna,
Eddie Craig,
Davion Gardenhire, and
Javier Lopez placed 4th in 40.83. The 4x400m team of Baxter,
Tucker Groh,
Jeremy Garcia, and Muller came through in 6th with a 3:18.19.
In the field,
Caden Rhamy earned 7th in the shot put at 15.73m, while
Jaden Magana threw a personal best of 14.84m for 10th.
Ian Suther placed 13th in the javelin at 59.28m. In the 5000m,
Shane Mullen led the Ichabod distance crew in 10th place (14:52.22), with
Donald Kibet finishing 12th and
Charles Fossey not finishing the race.
Washburn finished 3rd overall behind Pittsburg State (252.5) and Missouri Southern (135), closing out the meet with 107.5 points.
