The men race an 8K at 11:15 a.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 12 p.m. Overall there will be 22 collegiate men's programs and 19 women's programs competing.

WASHBURN NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Washburn Ichabod men's squad is ranked third in the USTFCCCA Regional poll behind Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State. The Ichabods have been third in all three regional polls so far this season. The Ichabods are No. 19 in the third national poll.

MIAA PRESEASON POLLS
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's cross country team was picked fourth and the women's squad was picked in seventh in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Polls that were released prior to the start of the season.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE ICHABODS
MEN
WICHITA, Kan. – The Washburn men's cross country team opened its 2025 season with a strong group performance at the JK Gold Classic on Saturday morning, placing six runners inside the top 30 of the collegiate men's race while finishing in second place out of 14 overall.
Leading the way for the Ichabods was
Tommy Roehl, who crossed the line in 19:18.75 to place 15th overall in the highly competitive field. He was followed closely by
Ludovico Vaccari in 17th at 19:28.32 and
Adrian Lehman, who grabbed 22nd with a time of 19:35.85.
Rounding out Washburn's top five were
Lukas Mehl in 23rd (19:38.79) and
Aidan Junior in 27th (19:46.25). Freshman
Trent Zimbelman also made a solid collegiate debut, finishing 43rd in 20:14.67.
The Ichabods added depth throughout the lineup with
Taylor Karcz (46th, 20:16.15),
Kyle Wagoner (51st, 20:29.85),
Devin Trent (59th, 20:37.22), and
Connor Burkdoll (64th, 20:40.15) all finishing in the top half of the 156-runner field.
As a team, the Ichabods had 89 team points finishing behind Wichita State who won the event with 20 points. Fort Hays State was third with 93 points and Butler County was fourth with 102.

WOMEN
WICHITA, Kan. – The Washburn women's cross country team turned in a strong opening performance Saturday morning at the JK Gold Classic, placing seven runners in the top 40 of a deep field led by NCAA Division I and nationally ranked programs, finishing fourth overall out of nine teams.
Lexie Fontaine was the top finisher for the Ichabods, placing 15th overall in 19:28.50. She was followed by
Jordyn Cleary, who clocked 19:44.98 for 19th place, and
Jolie Evans, who crossed in 23rd at 19:55.75.
Washburn's depth continued to show with
Rylee Ismert in 28th (20:00.66),
Grace Collins in 33rd (20:10.73), and
Riley Britton in 34th (20:14.24).
Ebba Wetterberg also cracked the top 40 with a 38th-place finish in 20:19.93.
Additional Ichabod scorers included
Katy Menke (58th, 21:05.97),
Riley Ammons (60th, 21:28.74), and
Mya Kafka (67th, 21:46.06),
The Ichabods tallied 109 points overall trailing Oklahoma (29), Fort Hays State (52) and Wichita State (58).
