TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team finished-off the 2022 Washburn Open with four NCAA provisional qualifying marks along with six personal bests and five top-five showings on Saturday at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. The Ichabods will take to the road for the first time this season heading to the Bearcat Invitational next weekend at Northwest Missouri.
Pau Borillo-Febrer completed the heptathlon with a second-place finish recording 4,989 points. Borillo-Febrer was third in the 60m, seventh in the pole vault and second in the final event in the 1000m.
Connor Last picked up an NCAA provisional mark in the long jump winning the event with a mark of 7.27m (23-10.25) to take the title.
Zac Chandler recorded a personal best in the pole vault along with an NCAA provisional mark at 4.90m (16-00.75) to finish third.
Tom Haug was third in the high jump clearing 2.00m (6-06.75) and
Braden Rose was sixth in the shot put with a mark of 14.63m (48-00.00).
Outside of Washburn athletes, the second four-mile run in the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility was recorded by Oklahoma City's Zouhair Talbi in a time of 3:59.50. He edged out Isaac Akers (4:00.85), Michael Power (4:01.17) and Scott Beattie (4:02.17) all oof Tulsa who just missed the sub-four mark.
