Washburn University Athletics

Leroy Harmon was a five-year member of the Washburn football squad and was ranked eighth in the nation for total offensive yards gained in 1949. As of 2020, he is listed ninth in Wasburn’s all time career-rushing leaders with 1,927 yards gained. He is also third in Washburn’s all-time career scoring leaders with 253 points. He was All-Central-Intercollegiate Conference Team player all four years from 1946-49. He was a part of the winning Central Intercollegiate Championship team in 1949. He was inducted into the Washburn Athletics Hall of Fame in 1972.
